Our Story

I'll be honest with you. I never saw this coming.

Not the brand, not London, not any of it. If you'd told me back in Romania that I'd be sitting here writing this, having built something called Original Greatness with some of the best people I know, I probably would have laughed. Life has a funny way of taking you exactly where you need to go, just never the way you expected.

Romania, Dreams, and a One-Way Ticket

My name is Iulian. I'm Romanian, and I say that with a lot of pride. Romania is a beautiful country, the landscapes, the culture, the people. There's a warmth there that's hard to explain unless you've felt it. It will always be home.

But in 2018, home wasn't working out for me.

I'd spent years studying law, graduated, worked in a law office, and pushed hard to become a magistrate. After years of setbacks and honest self-reflection, I had to admit - this wasn't my path. Staying somewhere that wasn't working, just because it was familiar, wasn't something I was willing to do.

So, I made the call. I borrowed €500 from my mum, packed what I had, and got on a plane to the UK. Five hundred euros and a head full of dreams. Zero regrets.

Oxford, London, and the Grind

I landed in Oxford, staying with close friends while I found my feet. My first job was at a small Tesco. A law graduate, a master's in criminal psychology, stacking shelves. But honestly? I loved it. No ego, just graft, and it taught me a lot about people and myself.

After a year, I moved to London and enrolled at Birkbeck, University of London, studying Business Marketing. London hit differently. Morning shifts at Tesco. Evening shifts at a gym. Six, sometimes seven days a week for two and a half years. Very little sleep, and a quiet determination that this was all going somewhere.

Looking back, I wouldn't change a single day of it.

2022 – One of The Best and Worst Year of My Life

I went all in on fitness, personal training, coaching, helping people transform physically and mentally. It felt like the truest version of what I was supposed to be doing.

Then 2022 happened.

The good: I stepped on stage for my first amateur bodybuilding competition. Every 4am session, every sacrifice, every disciplined day had led to that moment. When the results came in, first place.

I'm not going to pretend I didn't cry. It was the first time I'd stood at the top of something I'd built with my own hands. No shortcuts. Just work.

But 2022 also broke me.

A business I'd put everything into went catastrophically wrong. I lost nearly £68,000 - everything I'd saved since arriving in the UK, and some of my closest friends' savings. My home - gone. Almost overnight.

I want to be real about that because it matters. It was the darkest period of my life. Not because of the money - money is just money - but because of what it represented. A handful of close friends showed up for me during that time, gave me somewhere to stay, and reminded me who I was when I'd almost forgotten.

I never gave up. Not for a single day. Because I knew, deep down, that I could build it back. And I would.

The Conversation That Changed Everything

Somewhere in the middle of rebuilding, I sat down with three of my closest friends, Mebs, Rocky, and Amber.

We looked at the fitness industry, the brands, the culture, the community, and felt something. Not just an opportunity. A calling.

Most brands were selling products. Very few were selling a purpose.

We didn't want to make another hoodie with a logo on it. We wanted to build something for the ones who'd been through it. The ones who'd lost and rebuilt. The ones who showed up every day even when life was doing its best to knock them down.

We needed a name.

I've always chased greatness. In everything I do - my studies, my fitness, my work, my relationships. And I've always believed that once you achieve your own greatness, the most powerful thing you can do is turn around and help someone else achieve theirs.

So, we called it Original Greatness. And the OG mark became the symbol of everything we stand for: authenticity, earned achievement, and the belief that every person has greatness inside them, waiting to be unlocked.

Four Years Nobody Saw

Original Greatness didn't happen overnight. For nearly four years, we worked in the background, completely invisible to the world.

Manufacturers across different countries. Web designers, solicitors, accountants. Building a network from scratch. Learning things we'd never done before, making mistakes, going again.

Sleepless nights. Financial pressure. Moments where everything felt like it was falling apart. None of it was glamorous. All of it was necessary.

Original Greatness officially launched in December 2025. Today the brand is led by me and Amber, with Mebs and Rocky supporting in the background. We are ordinary people who absolutely refuse to live ordinary lives.

What We're Really Building

This is more than a clothing brand.

Yes, our gear is designed to perform in your hardest sessions and still look sharp when you walk out the door. But what we're really building is a community - a place for the ones who are chasing something.

We believe in the grind. We believe in showing up. We believe that every person - regardless of where they're from or what they've been through - can achieve their own greatness.

We don't care about your background. We care about your hunger.
